Saint Walker introduces himself to the Green Lanterns as the Blue Lantern of sector one. Hal Jordan, reeling from the effects of an attack from (newly added Red Lantern) Laira, finds himself being healed by the powers of Saint Walker. The Green Lantern Corps have just been ambushed by the Red Lantern Corps, kidnapping Sinestro from their custody. In the Rage of the Red Lanterns plot line, Ganthet and Sayd's Blue Lanterns are finally introduced. It is revealed at the end of the issue that Ganthet and Sayd have settled on a planet (later named as Odym), have created a blue power ring, and intend to form their own Corps. The blue light will hold the line in spirit if not in strength". In his description he says: "Elsewhere, a flicker of hope will shine from deep space, like a lighthouse warning the ships away from the rocks. Two issues after their exile, Ganthet reveals the Blackest Night prophecy to the reader, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner. ![]() Their willingness to embrace emotions and the love they have for one another leads to the two being banished from Oa. During the first half of the event, Ganthet and Sayd serve as a dissenting voice among the Guardians as they acknowledge that the Blackest Night prophecy within the Book of Oa is coming to pass. The Blue Lantern Corps is rooted in the events that transpired during the Sinestro Corps War story line. First formed by the banished former- Guardians Ganthet and Sayd, they are based on the planet Odym (later Elpis) and their powers are fueled by the emotion hope. They have begun to fill an increasingly important role within Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps as major participants within the Blackest Night crossover event. The Blue Lantern Corps is one of the nine corps empowered by a specific color of the emotional spectrum within the DC Universe. Their powers, similar to those of other organizations based around the emotional spectrum, are fueled by the emotion of hope. The Blue Lantern Corps is a fictional organization appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, beginning in 2008 in Green Lantern vol. This includes the teleportation of the Indigo Tribe, the power augmentation of the Blue Lantern Corps, the burning red plasma of the Red Lanterns and mind control abilities of the Star Sapphires.Interior artwork from Blackest Night 0 (July 2009 DC Comics) The nature of the Living Entity drawing from all life across the emotional spectrum gives White Lanterns access to all the powers of the seven living Lantern Corps White Lanterns do not have access to the abilities of Black Lanterns. Tapping into the Entity's power, White Lanterns can resurrect the dead, including restoring life to barren landscapes. ![]() Like most Lantern Corps, White Lanterns can create energy constructs powered by life itself. When channeling the power of the Living Entity through the White Lantern power ring, a ring bearer gains a degree of omnipotence. After Nekron's defeat, the White Lantern unexpectedly resurrected Deadman, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Jade, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Maxwell Lord, Eobard Thawne, Hawk, Ronnie Raymond, Osiris and Captain Boomerang for unknown reasons. Hal Jordan seized the opportunity to bond with the Entity and use his newfound powers as a White Lantern to restore Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Donna Troy, Bart Allen, Animal Man, Superboy, and Ice to life as White Lanterns and they had been transformed into Black Lanterns by Nekron. This transformation was short-lived, however, with Nekron forcibly removing the Entity from Sinestro when the two battled briefly. Bonding with the Entity, Sinestro transformed into a White Lantern with the entire power of life itself at his disposal. The first White Lantern was Sinestro, leader of his eponymous Sinestro Corps wielding fear-powered rings. It housed an omnipotent creature, the Life Entity, who is connected to every living thing in the DCU and under attack from Nekron, the undead embodiment of death and leader of the Black Lantern Corps. At the end of the comic book crossover, a massive White Lantern was unearthed. The existence of a white energy within the DCU's emotional spectrum was teased over the course of Blackest Night when another Lantern combined their energy with that of a Green Lantern to create a white energy blast to destroy a Black Lantern ring.
